Twelve fateful years ago, Robin Mulholland and Robert Windrim, 2 friendly Canadians from Vancouver set off on a journey of their lives backpacking through S.E. Asia. Stumbling through Thailand they found their way to Lamai Beach on the beautiful island of Koh Samui.

One night they went into town and changed money at an office called Samui Air owned by a pretty Thai lady named Kop, and their lives changed forever. The three became best friends and Kop took the lucky Canadians in like family. Robin and Robert fell in love with Koh Samui, Thailand and Kops family and returned every year to visit.

It was their dream to one day move to Koh Samui and run a business together, but pulling out of Canadian Society as the General Manager of a golf course (Robin) and running his own import business (Robert) was not easy. There was always later, so they thought.

In March 2001, Robert was diagnosed with cancer, got extremely sick and realized his dream of moving to Thailand was over. He told Robin his only regret in life was not moving to Thailand to live and pursue their business dreams. He said "Make sure you go and don't let anyone stop you, because they are not sitting in my position. You live one life and there may not be later, there may not be tomorrow."

A business opportunity came up with Kop to build an apartment and office complex on Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui and Robin decided to invest.

Shortly after on June 28th, 2002 after a brave and spirited fight, Robert Windrim passed away.

Robin is now living his dream, living on Koh Samui, partners in business with his best friend Kop, while being watched above by his best buddy who surely has a big smile on his face.

HISTORY

Completed in April, 2003, Samui Beach Apartments was designed to bring Western comfort and service combined with Thai charm and hospitality as a sanctuary away from home or sanctuary as your home. Situated on the beautiful and world famous Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui, and offering affordable daily and monthly rates with first class services and amenities, Samui Beach Apartments ensures a relaxing and enjoyable stay for all.

Relax in the beautiful, spacious and very modern apartment rooms. All rooms are tastefully decorated with fashionable western furnishing and Thai décor, mosaic green tile flooring, tile bathroom walls and elegant fixtures and lighting.

Catering to the long time resident or holiday vacationer, all ten rooms include kitchenette with micro-wave, sink,  refrigerator and dining area, hot water showers, air-con and TV with satellite.

Eight of the rooms are deluxe rooms with over 50 square meters of living space. 

Two of the deluxe rooms have three single beds, four of the bedrooms have one double bed, while the final two have one double bed and one twin bed.

The remaining two rooms  are deluxe family suites with 100 square meters of living space including two separate bedrooms (double bed in one bedroom, two twin beds in the other), an extremely spacious and comfortable living area and larger kitchenette with larger adjoining dining area. 

The wonderful family areas include fold our couches that can be made into extra  beds.

Samui Beachfront Restaurant not only serves a wide variety of Thai, Asian and Western Cuisines ensuring all mouth watering tastes and desires are fulfilled, but also provides a breathtaking atmosphere overlooking the beautiful ocean and silky white sand beach.

Situated in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui can be accessed easily via Bangkok and many other cities. Bangkok Airways flies hourly to Samui from Bangkok and also has flights from Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket and Singapore. You can also travel via rail or tour bus from almost any other city to the town of Suratthani from where you take a short 1.5 hour ferry ride from Don Sak ferry terminal to Koh Samui.

Samui Beach Apartments are situated on the incredible tropical island of Koh Samui, on stunning Chaweng Beach, recognized world-wide for its beautiful coastline, pure white soft sandy beaches, deep blue ocean and surf and gentle swaying palm trees. The apartments are a mere 15 minutes from the airport, ideally located on the quieter south end of Chaweng Beach Road, yet only a few minutes stroll to the vibrant and exciting nightlife and world class restaurants and shopping.
